Fort Pierce, FL. June 20, 2011 – Maverick Boat Company, Inc. (MBC) recently launched its latest addition to the Cobia Boats brand line-up with the introduction of the new Cobia 217 CC. Unveiled at the MBC 2012 Dealer Meeting earlier this month, the new 217 CC completes a total revamping of the Cobia center console line-up from 21 feet and up.

Influenced by the performance attributes of the Cobia 237, 256 and 296 CC’s, the 217CC carries many of the same features and running characteristics as its bigger brothers. Designed for offshore use, the hull starts with a high, flared bow and sharp forward entry that carries back to 20 degrees of deadrise at the transom. Topsides, the level cockpit stretches from stem to stern and widens at the rear with the addition of covering boards that allow for under gunwale storage of fishing rods and long handled items such as gaffs, nets and brushes. A plumbed 28 gallon livewell with hidden standpipe system separates two integrated aft seats that have removable storage buckets underneath. At arm’s length from the standard leaning post with backrest and rodholders, the helm features Yamaha multi-function gauges, a back-lighted switch panel with blue lighted switch tips and a fiberglass insert with foot rest and lockable glove box. The recessed wraparound bow rail doubles as a handhold for forward seating with dry storage under the port seat and a fishbox that drains overboard below the starboard seat. Other standard features include a finished console interior, blue LED cockpit lighting and an oversized anchor locker. Value engineered for an economical F150, the boat is rated for up to 200 horsepower. “Packaged with a F150, this boat is a great economical option for getting offshore without having to give up a comfortable ride or features. In terms of dollar for dollar value, we think it’s going to be hard to beat,” said Charlie Johnson, Director of Marketing for MBC.
